Living a Meaningful Life
--a Dharma talk given by Doug Powers at the Interfaith Youth Retreat

For a meaningful life we must look very, very deeply into ourselves to find a place of contentment, a place of solidity, a place where we can rest, and a place of quietude. This is what we try to do in our meditation; we try to find that place that’s not the flux of the surface or the flux of the karma, but really the birthright that all of us have, which is a very quiet, content, and clear experience.

A Piece of Vedic Peace on the Coast
--a report on the Interfaith Youth Retreat by Franklyn Wu

As my car followed the curving roads toward the coast, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of homecoming with very familiar people. This trip would be the third time I participated in this event and I found a surprising closeness and fondness to this ancient spiritual tradition of Vedanta, the good people who practice it, and the gorgeous settings where I would be spending my weekend.
